Day 1<\/strong> \u2013 After spending some time flying in the open skies, you arrive in Belize. Paradise at last! The first day is really all about the journey there, and the transfer to the Mainland Hotel. Unpack, unwind and get ready for your escapade. Introduce your toes to the local soils and sands. It\u2019s time to start the adventure of a lifetime.<\/p>\n

Day 2<\/strong> \u2013 Now the fun really begins, as yesterday was just an introduction!\u00a0 You can start your Belizean experience exploring the land\u2019s thousands of amazingly beautiful acres. Travel the terrain on a mountain bike, take in some bird watching, frolic under waterfalls, or even practice a little yoga while overlooking some extraordinary scenery. You can also canoe or take a long, leisurely stroll along spectacular walking trails. No matter what you choose to do, you\u2019ll notice that the surroundings of Belize are astounding.<\/p>\n

Day 3<\/strong> \u2013 Enjoy a little romance with a secret waterfall lunch. Arrangements can be made for a truly private gourmet meal to be served to you, and hugging and kissing is definitely allowed since the location is nicely secluded (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).<\/p>\n

Day 4<\/strong> \u2013 Maya Ruins! After you are used to the local surroundings, this is a good day to pick which of the Maya Ruin tours you\u2019d like to explore. It\u2019s like stepping right onto the pages of National Geographic! Climb right upon and into a setting of ancient culture and rituals. In fact, it really does look like what you see in the movies. You\u2019ll be astounded.<\/p>\n

Day 5<\/strong> \u2013 And now for a little change of countryside. You can choose to transfer to a five-star hotel on Ambergris Caye, which is the largest island in Belize, and the main destination for many travelers. Ambergris Caye has been the hub of Belizean area maritime trade for centuries, and San Pedro is the only established town on the island. This is a must-see destination for those who really like to scuba dive and frolic around the surf. Perhaps you might enjoy a few hours at the zoo?\u00a0 Or just have a local version of the fruity cocktail, dip your toes in the ocean, take a nap by the pool, then have yet another fruity cocktail (or two, three or four).<\/p>\n

Day 6<\/strong> \u2013 Do what they do best in Belize \u2013 nada! That\u2019s right \u2013\u00a0 nothing! Zilch! Stare at the ocean, and act out your own version of a Corona commercial. Sounds like a great idea, doesn\u2019t it? And the fans of your YouTube channel or friends of your Facebook page will love it as well.<\/p>\n

Day 7<\/strong> \u2013 Another \u201cmust\u201d experience for your time spent in Belize is a visit to Hol Chan Marine Reserve, where you can swim within coral reefs, snorkel with sharks and sting rays, and experience Belize’s first marine park. Due to its protected status, local fish populations have exploded. Large schools of jacks, groupers, snappers and barracuda abound in waters as shallow as five feet. For underwater photographers, this makes for some great marine life photo opportunities.<\/p>\n

For the more daring vacationer or honeymooner, a visit to Shark and Ray Alley is in order. The sharks and rays can sense dive boats approaching and will begin to school in anticipation of bait being thrown into the water. Upon initial arrival, you can actually witness the ocean\u2019s surface boiling with rolling sharks and sting ray wings as they vie for the scraps.<\/p>\n

Do you like visiting small, out-of-the-way settlements? Despite the growth of local tourism, Caye Caulker remains a small village with a distinct cultural flavor not necessarily found in large-scale tourist development. Almost all the businesses are locally owned. Vehicles larger than golf carts almost never roam the streets, and lodging is small scale and relatively inexpensive compared with many other tourist destinations.<\/p>\n

Day 8<\/strong> \u2013 Rent a cart, bike or hike to Palapa Bar for the day. Or forget traditional transportation means and float to the bar in an inner tube while actually drinking on the Caribbean ocean. From the water, you can have native beers lowered down to you in buckets.\u00a0 Travelers also have shown mad love for Palapa Bar\u2019s giant burgers and local entrees.\u00a0 And the view of the Belize Barrier Reef is magnificent as well! All this is why so many call the Palapa Bar their \u201cfavorite bar in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Day 9<\/strong> \u2013 As your Belizean stay comes closer to its end, why not rest from all of your activity with a day at the beach that\u2019s capped off by a sunset cruise? After all, you\u2019ll need even MORE photos for your Facebook page!<\/p>\n

Day 10<\/strong> \u2013 Time to take a last look around and begin the journey homeward. By this time, a wide smile should be permanently visible across your face. In Belize, you can see and do quite a bit without breaking the piggy bank wide open. Ya\u2019ll come back really soon!<\/p>\n
